I'm BenSD, and you've stumbled on my personal website! You might have figured that out already, huh? So, who am I? I'm so glad you asked (not that you actually asked). The short answer is that I'm a person who makes things. Actually, that's the long answer too, but I'll try to build on that.

I'm a writer by trade and nature. I live in Appalachian Ohio and my focus is primarily fiction, but I like to dabble; I've done virtually every kind of writing imaginable (if you can think of a genre I haven't tried, let me know; I'd love to give it a shot), including the occasional multimodal work. It's a hobby, a passion, and a profession.

I'm showcasing some minor programming work, each with a different form of storytelling taking the spotlight. The first is a playable personality assessment (intended for novelty use, not a psychiatric tool) based on a novella of the same name. The next is the redesigned Morpheus Quest website, sans the miscellaneous content such as achievements and page lists to return focus to the story. Finally, I've put together an archive of the few items I have from my dad, telling the years of his life through letters and images.

Lucidity (Demo) Lucidity is a relatively short game (5-10 hours estimated gameplay) where you play through the life of a character, building your identity as you go. The game incorporates novelty MBTI-style questions to identify a personality type for each player. PLAY

The Morpheus Quest This is a choice-based gamebook with hundreds of possible endings. Designed to be read as flash fiction, each time through the story is short, hiding a larger story behind multiple narratives. PLAY

Archive: Dad A simple file browser program intended to preserve the documents, pictures, and files that make up the remainder of one late life. Documents are ordered by date and type with flexible zoom options. Personal information has been redacted to ensure privacy. PLAY
