The Morpheus Quest

The Morpheus Quest is an expansive interactive story in the "Choose Your Own Adventure" style. To play, you simply read a passage, click an option to proceed, and repeat until you reach an ending.

This particular interactive story is made to present as flash-fiction game, with each "playthrough" taking only a few minutes. The story cosists of 700 chapters with more than 400 endings. Diagrams are available showing routes to all possible choices, although it's suggested to read through blindly.

The setting uses Neil Gaiman's Sandman character, which is morally questionable without his consent. There's no profit being made from this, so perhaps he can forgive the transgression one day. I'm so sorry, Neil.

This is the second version of this web app and was made using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. The original version allowed readers to collect over fifty achievements and haf bonus content such as play statistics and lists of endings, but this has been removed from the updated version to return focus to the story. If you're interested in a more game-like experience, the original is still available in all it's clumsy and sloppy glory; the button below will reload the frame on this page with this other version.

Reloading this page will return the frame within to its default, but don't worry; progress is saved automatically as you progress, so you can switch freely between the older and newer format any time.
