Lucidity (Demo)

Who are you when the world stops telling you who to be?
Lucidity is a narrative-driven RPG and playable personality inventory in which you guide a character through the stages of life, searching for a sense of self - and for a mythical “You” who may or may not exist. Set in a dreamlike world where logic bends and familiar rules don't always apply, the game explores the ways our experiences, relationships, and choices shape the people we become.
Collect Fragments of Personality, navigate encounters with the people who would define you, and discover what emerges when you begin to define yourself. There is no traditional combat and no way to lose. Instead, unique boss encounters challenge you to navigate dialogue and make decisions that contribute to your character's evolving personality profile. Hints are available if you find yourself stuck, so you can take your time and explore at your own pace.
This is an entirely new project, reimagining the original Lucidity prototype with a new engine, redesigned systems, fresh art, music, and sound effects, and a renewed approach to its central ideas. Although it shares the original's name and premise, this is a new iteration rather than a continuation of the abandoned prototype. The content here makes a vertical slice of the game which serves as an early demo project, covering the first two chapters.
Lucidity draws inspiration from personality frameworks such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), alongside other approaches to describing personality and behavior. Its results are for entertainment and reflection only; they are not a clinical assessment, mental health tool, or substitute for professional evaluation.
Content warning: The game contains explicit language and explores sensitive subjects, including religion, substance use, and trauma. While it is not designed as an adult game, some themes may be better suited to a mature audience.
